Work Parties Continue at Tryfan Junction

Reconstruction work at Tryfan Junction Station has now, August 7th, resumed. The fence in front of the station frontage was moved to aid  erection of scaffolding and circulation. The door thresh-holds were prepared, ready for the timber opening formers

John Williams may be leading the team in rebuilding the main stone and brickwork.

It will be a great opportunity for members to learn the rudiments of these skills under the auspices of such a popular craftsman.

Work parties may be more frequent and more flexible. Please telephone Lewis Esposito 01286 650397 for latest info on workparties"

WHHG - AGM  Report

To quote the chairman “I enjoy AGM’s!” -  Our 13th was no exception, being well attended by virtue of the weekend attracting many supporters of the Porthmadog-based railways for the various special events.

Our railway was and continues to be people-orientated and the AGM provides an opportunity to meet members old and new.   This is perhaps even more important than the business we are obliged to conduct!

Due to members’ generosity and an element of commercial success our finances are healthy; the only frustration being our inability to donate further to other peripheral causes such as the Kerr Stuart rebuild and archival material restoration.

Tryfan Junction

A full working party will take place on Saturday/Sunday the 17th/18th April to finish off the groundworks.
