The group has identified a range of preservation projects that embody varying degrees of ambition. In the reconstruction phase the main target was to ensure that as much as possible of the remaining infrastructure was recorded and preserved. Many original features were noted and, in most cases, have been saved. These include:
However with the reconstruction of the line nearing completion it is now time to plan individual projects that will comply with our constitutional requirements to ‘Record, Preserve and Reconstruct’. Dinas Station Building and Dinas Goods Shed have already been restored, but other projects include:
New projects are required to go through a ‘marking system’, the purpose of which is to establish their readiness for action. The Cambrian Crossing Box and Tryfan Junction station have been approved and are underway. Details of Tryfan Junction can be found from the link above, whilst the Cambrian Crossing Box project is progressing with the gates and fencing complete. The box itself is coming along with all work to date being offsite. Progress on projects will be reported in the News pages of this site and also archived on this page. | ||
